In a burst of effort, we completed and announced Studio Manager 7.5 this week. All the details about its features are on our product site and my product blog. We just sent out the first product a few minutes ago. And there's a new free, full-function demo too (we ask for contact info but you can download if you type anything at all into the required entry fields).
It feels like we are reaching a really nice spot with Studio Manager right now. Unlike custom work where you can't afford to get too picky, you can really hone a product and make it special. We've got lots of customers saying they love it and that's what we like to hear.
I think FileMaker 7 and 8 are very attractive software platforms for industry-specific business software. And, I don't see anything that threatens our #1 position in the creative services market segment.
This is the timeframe when smart companies think about getting mission-critical business software in place for the new year. My job now is to find more ways to expand awareness so the people who would love Studio Manager find out about it. That's the goal right now.
