Just took delivery of Panther, so I'm guessing this is happening across the country. If you don't have one of these boxes as we speak, here's what's in it. You guessed it, this is not a professional product shot.
As you can see there are two manuals: (1) Welcome to Panther: Find out what you can do with Mac OS X and Mac OS X applications - 24 pages and (2) Mac OS X Panther v10.3: Installation and Setup Guide - 13 pages. There are four CDs (3 Panther installation discs + a Mac OS X Xcode Tools disc). Xcode is Panther's new development environment. Apple's Panther Install & Support page is up.
TidBITS Electronic Publishing will be selling an ebook by Joe Kissell called Take Control of Upgrading to Panther starting at 8 pm tonight. It costs 5 bucks. There are so many ways that purchase could pay for itself. I'll be getting a copy. Except, I want the manual now! I want Panther on my Powerbook when I go to Night of the Panther tonight.
