iPhone Day 2 - More Features in the Works
Cool news. According to a HowardForums post, lots more stuff is on the way. This is still unverified but tantalizing and I expect it will pan out.
iChat is coming very soon
a Finder like Leopard will be added at Leopard launch probably or sooner
widescreen keyboard support in every app not just Safari
Disk mode will be there, so the iPhone will mount on the desktop
Stabilization will be added to the camera (in software)
.Mac syncing eventually (that will be great for backup)
Flash is coming to the Safari browser
Keynote presentations are coming
Copy and paste, clipboard is coming
Engadget says there is a 620 mHz ARM chip in the iPhone with 3D graphics and energy saving functions. They say they are getting way better than expected battery life out of their 12 iPhones.
Other than that. Everywhere I have been in public using my iPhone, people have come up and asked about it. I've done a lot of demos quite gladly.
I have barely used the keyboard but I am glad widescreen is coming and I already like it as well as a Treo or the BlackBerry Pearl. Word guessing helps a lot since it tailors to your own vocabulary and gets better as you type more. When you type into the sender field in email, it uses your most recent sender that starts with that letter as its guess immediately and gives you all the other matches in a finger scrollable list to choose from.
Will get back to you once I've taken the 2 hours of free training at the Apple store this afternoon.
Our Apple Specialist, Rick, showed up today to talk Studio Manager. He had iPhone attached to his belt, so I got to test drive it.
iWant.
One of the cute little touches (that I expect from Apple) is the little bounce at the beginning and end of a group of photos. It amuses me in the same way as when I try to log in to OSX with the wrong password and the pane 'shakes its head no' at me. I'm heading to the Apple store tomorrow.

Thanks for dropping me a note, Gary. Good decision on the trip to the Apple store. I'm convinced they are going to sell out once people understand how cool this *phone* really is. This iPhone is a surprise even for Apple.
The first surprise happened at the MacWorld Expo during Steve's demo. I just watched the keynote, but everyone was blown away. Having one yourself is a whole new level of awe at what they've provided us with. I am really enjoying getting calls and seeing these fabulous photos of my friends on my big screen phone.
Please thank Rick for me. Tell him I would love to hear from him. Same goes for you if you ever have a question about this fun tech stuff or Studio Manager.

Janet, you're right about the 'new level of awe.' I was in and out of the Apple store within five minutes. Activation took another five. Syncing was another five maybe, and I've barely put the thing down since! Flash and Keynote are exciting -- especially if we can hook iPhone up to a TV monitor for Keynote presentations! Happy Fourth!
