Love my New Honda Civic

Happy days are here again. Things haven't been so good for a while now. I rear-ended a friend on March 28. Her car was totaled. My car was near totaled. These were not new cars by any means - 10 years plus. And it doesn't take a lot to total a car with bodywork prices being what they are.

Anyway, it has been a fairly major hassle. And there's more to do. But I decided to buy a new car. And I got this 2006 Honda Civic 4-door sedan. This thing totally rocks! It handles with incredible responsiveness. Has plenty of pickup for my needs and even wants. Tons of space inside. Very roomy. Luxurious.

The car shown here is what I got. This is the EX. The color is called Galaxy Gray. The interior is gray. I like black even better but the black ones come with a really unpleasant beige interior that I couldn't stand. If you are in the market for an affordable new car, you should check these out. I was surprised with this car. It's really fun.

Now I spend time each day trying to think of reasons to go somewhere in my car. It's great. Of course, I also spend time each day figuring ways to make a little more money so I can afford the $450+ car payments! So far that part is working. I'm having a big sales month. It's a good thing Apple didn't come out with a new Mac this month is all I can say.

I just got a 2006 Honda Civic sedan. I love it! I got one in the same colour and EX style as you did. Would love to hear any comments, etc..I bought mine after seeing one that belonged to my friend-her car is black, and after seeing the galaxy gray, she wishes she had that colour. Let's network about these cars.

Hi Scott-

Yes. Very. The handling is great. Steering is excellent. Safety is off the charts. Gas mileage is excellent. It is quite luxurious and roomy. Much more stylish than previous Honda Civics. Works perfectly. The only two criticisms that have emerged: (1) you have to rev Honda engines to high levels to quickly accelerate at some speeds and (2) the road feel is fairly loose are nothing compared to the pluses. If either of these seem like possible concerns, you could try another test drive and look for those two things.

Hi, I am considering buying a 2005 Honda Civic EX. I have always driven a Honda Accord EX in the past, but recently my car was totaled. I am writing to ask you what your gas mileage actually is ... City and Highway. This will help me make my choice between a Honda Accord 2004 EX ... or a Honda Civic 2005. Thanks for any information you might offer.

Hi Bea-

I'm ashamed to say that I haven't really gotten around to analyzing my actual mileage. I think consumer reports says it averages 28 mpg in the city/hwy combined in real life. That's all I know. Sorry I can't be of more help. I'm happy with it but just kinda go with it re the mileage. I know it is rated 30 city, 40 hwy in the non-hybrid version. The hybrid would be nice but at my time of buying it added an extra $5000 to the price. Since i drive less than 10k a year I decided to pass.
